My Intro to Maya final for Gnomon! I was very happy with how it came out. This is based off of concept art done by Ivan Ovsyannikov. My school also picked it for their Student Gallery of 2014, so now it’s printed and hanging on a wall for a few months! Super proud and feeling strong going into the new term, with more great concept to work with!
It’s definitely been awhile since I posted! Sadly I haven’t updated it with some of my finals from last term! The top is a key frame we were required to make between the two characters we had designed previously. I found the piece to be fun and challenging all at once, but I’m happy with the result!
Of course I wanted to go back and refine my little tiki-spider some more, so I brought him to a nice finish!
Another 3D piece with Maya. The models are not mine, but the rest I did. We were provided a room that we had to texture, light and render, for my texture and shading class :) It’s not due for a couple more weeks, so I’ll probably just keep tweaking it!
My first Maya piece at Gnomon! :) Intro to Maya, midterm. Pretty happy with the results, considering it’s been a few years since I last opened the program and learned a bunch of new things! Everything was made by me. Modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering. :) I’m excited for the next year and a half of school! Oh the things I will learn!
Some quick character mock ups for my advanced digital painting class. Eventually we’ll be putting them into an environment for our final :)
Advanced Character Design Midterm 1920’s ‘winter’ villain with a histrionic personality disorder. Basically she’s so insecure that she goes above and beyond to gain attention and need for approval.
Week 1 homework for Advanced Character design. I might go back and add some call outs, but basically he just wanted to see our process…or just draw something. So for a ‘fighter’ game, I picked a French Frog Farmer! He’s agile and his combo move is chucking frogs at you… because why not! :)
A new term has started! I probably should post up some of my finals but I considered them due and not done. I’d ideally like to polish them a bit more. These heads are just as assessment to our teacher to see where we’re at. Playing around with different styles :)
Eeee! Finals are setting in! This is my digital painting final! We had to compose our own still-life. I deemed my Zombie Skull Mug and Tardis string lights as appropriate subjects! BraaAAaZzzzAaiiiinnNnNzzzz!
A 1 hour facial paint study. I used reference from flickr user Guiseppe1957. He takes amazing photos and I love his portraits. http://www.flickr.com/photos/giuseppe3/
